The Water Level Automatic Measurement and Forecast System of WenYu River Reservoir in Shan'xi is designed in this paper according to its concrete practical situation. The water level data are real-time acquired, displayed, processed, stored, printed making use of "the Inductive Digital Water Level Sensor" and "MFC-3 Water Level Controller"(MFC-3 WLC). And the software of acquiring and processing of the water level data is designed by MCS-51 assemble language in this system. On the fact of the long distance communication of the water level data, the remote serial communication between MFC-3 WLC and PC is realized by wireless data modem under the development environment of Visual C++6.0. Furthermore, the real-time and historical water level data can be also transmitted to PC of Hydrology Bureau by telephone line or network. Lastly the Water Level Monitoring System of WenYu River Reservoir is designed in the frost circumstance by its characteristics of winter dullness and icing thick.Both of the two systems are applied practically in WenYu River Reservoir. It is shown, in practice, that they run well and reliably. Meanwhile, they are of some reference value to the Water Level Automatic Measurement and Forecast System of the other Reservoir.
