The development and study of the engine electronic control technology, which is regarded as one important method to reduce the exhaust emissions and improve the power and economy performance, is paid more and more attention. To attaining the better power performance and economic performance, satisfying the standards and regulations of national emission and maintaining the good work operation, the matching test of the ECU(electronic control unit) and the engine needs to be done and the control parameters be calibrated and optimized in the progress of application and development of the electronic control system. The auto-calibrating system of electronic control engine is studied further based on this purpose. Then a auto-calibrating system of the EC (Electronic controlled) engine is developed, which emphasis on the research and development of the auto-calibrating software in the up-PC, the control of the peripheral equipment and the electronic control system of the engine.The system uses the PC as the up-PC, which is the center of the data collect , process and the center of the control, also it is the core of the auto-calibrating system. The system uses RS-232C and a micro-controller(AT89C52) to constitute a communication unit. The RS-232C communicates directly with the up-PC and the communicating micro-controller, the communicating micro-controller and the ECU of the engine share a dual-port RAM. In this way the communication of the up-PC and the ECU of the engine is realized, that is the up-PC's data collect and control on the ECU of the engine is realized. This method of communication can improve the run effective of the ECU of the engine, at the same time, reduce the difficulty of development. This system adopts the concentrated control method to manage the engine dynamometer, the fuel consumption measurement system, the emission measurement system, the electronic throttle and the ECU of the engine, this provide the platform for realize the auto-calibration, at the same time, it is convenient for adding the sub-system and new function. Every sub-system's function is simple, so it is easy to realize.The calibration test is done applying the system in the LH150 engine. The results of test indicate that the auto-calibrating system can attain expected target andfulfill the optimization and calibrating test of the ECU and the engine effectively.
