500 kV SC (serial compensation) is representative FACTS technology with complicated control and relay system. Since now, we gain little about the details of WinCC, SIAMDYN D, SU200 and VBE. In this paper, we talk about t the especially problem such as over voltage, SSR, TRV in details. We have a little experiences of management of TCSC and FSC. There are some difference dispatching mode between china and foreign. It is a unit mode for dispatching in china, not a commercial mode. So the rulers must be regulated to fit the facts in china. Now the SC project are controlled by Grid dispatch center, but the operation has some influence on the province network located The main contents and conclusions of the paper are as follows: 1. The TSCS and SC technology are put into operation in china power grid in recent years, and give benefits to long distance power transmission with high capacity. The place used for power lines are also reduced. This paper introduced the theory and characteristics of TCSC and SC. 2. It focus on the study of operation and management of SC: We have develop the expert system to resole the problem of operaton, accident, protection, patrol, environment and security of TCSC. The aim is to avoid the accident of people and equipment, to enhance the stability of poer grid. 3. The rulers are impoved and have good effect in south china power grid in last year. The result shows that TCSC Expert system can improve the capability of power transmission form west to east.
