The technology of pneumatic conveying system was developed according to the need of industrial process. Considering whether improving efficiency of economy or protecting environment, pneumatic conveying systems were being applied increasingly abroad. Technology of pneumatic conveying systems was used in petroleum, chemical plant, foodstuff, metallurgy, material, etc. The system had the advantages of low consumption of energy, high level of automation, ability of continuously running for long time, protection for environment, etc. The pneumatic conveying system was the most suitable advanced technology for particles material. At present, particles studied in pneumatic conveying system were mostly located in spherical particles, there was little article introducing the research on cylindrical particles. It was very complex when considering the anisotropy of cylindrical particles. The shapes of Many materials conveyed by pneumatic conveying system were more close to cylinder in application, such as wheat and calcium carbonate used in packing industry. So it was necessary to research on the motion of cylindrical particles. For the purpose of designing pneumatic conveying systems of cylindrical particles more efficiently, research on motion and pressure of cylindrical particles in air flows was discussed in this paper. The results are satisfied and can be used to the application. All of these are the purpose of this paper and the innovation.Besides, method of CAD is used to the Design and Computation System of Pneumatic Conveying System. The computational module of computation for cylindrical particles was added to this system. The method and flow of this CAD software were also introduced.
