With the development of the technology of compensating the reactive power, DSTATCOM (Distribution Static Synchronous Compensator) is in great need in research on modern static reactive power compensation because it is the important reactive power compensation device in customer power. At present we have the ability to research and develop DSTATCOM, but the level drops behind that of foreign country, control method has been juvenile and control performance has been faulty. Especially DSTATCOM of PWM type based on IGBT has been still in research trial phase. The research is to develop DSTATCOM, validate the control method and empolder control system, aimed at the deficiency of DSTATCOM used in practice, combined latest production of domestic and overseas. We hope to do some work to accumulate technology.This paper chooses the parameters of main circuit units based on particularly analyzing working principium and main circuit structure of DSTATCOM control system and adopt direct-current control method to enhance the dynamic response speed and control precision. In the side of controller hardware, the DSP TMS320LF2407 of TI company is made as the control core, and the circuit chart of the whole control circuit has been designed and factured. We have completed the debug of every function module. In the side of software, the programme flow chart of every module, which can implement control functions of DSTATCOM, and part of control programme is compiled. Finally the trial DSTATCOM is made in laboratory, and I take part of some debugging work, it is entirely successful in technology, it can be done further research according in different situations, and used in industry practice.
