A three-level structure Static Var Generator (SVG) experiment realization method is proposed in this paper. The theory of SVG is studied and analyzed deeply.In this paper, the operation principle and control method of three-level SVG are analyzed deeply. A hysteresis-Band Current Control for a Three-Level SVG is given. The neutral-point voltage variation control strategy for the method is also studied. Then, the main power circuit taking electric electronic component IGBT as key device is designed. The control circuit based on the high precision, high speed digital signal processor TMS320F2812 and the control software with have been designed.With the hardware circuit and control software analyzed and designed above, the experimental three-level SVG device has been developed. Various kinds of characteristic tests, including AD sample with DSP, PWM wave output, Reactive compensation, which verify the feasibility of this device, have been carried on. All this work lays the good technological foundation in order to study SVG device. In addition, these researches offer the experiment platform for further study.
