According to the characters of the sludge, the final aim of handling sludge is to realize stabilization, decrement, harmlessness and using resources.The article elaborates completely processing technologies, which include the sludge concentration, stabilization, dehydration, hotness and dry. Though the investigation of present station and problem of Sludge handling, it forecasts the sludge output needed to be handled in the future. The article set forths the final processing way in detail of the domestic and foreign countries sludge, which is agricultural utilization, landfill, burning and as the building materials. It points out the shortcoming of all processing ways, also considers completely the economical feasibility, the technical serviceability, specially the sludge stabilization. According to the characters and serviceability of sludge in the Three Gorges Reservoir District, the article put forward several proposals about sludge handling, which are land filled after dried processing at present, in future which are used in agriculture, gardens, forest materials and improving soil and so on.Finally according to the actual situation of our country, the article gives the policy support and prospects for the final way of sludge handling.
