As part of development of Substation Simulation Training System, according to the advanced requirements for multi-fault simulation, this paper completed the job of programming for multi- fault calculation module. The calculation model used in this paper combined the advantages of sequence component and phase component. The grid was divided into two parts after faults. The part which is not influenced can be simplified by the means of sequence component to reduce the rank of network equation, and the other part can be dealt with phase component. Applying the method of calculating compensative inject current of node, which makes the effect of fault branches be equivalent at the nodes connected by fault branches, can maintain the topology of primary network and have identical model for various faults to solve any complex faults. This method utilizes adequately the trait of sparseness of node admittance matrix and adopts sparse technology to improve the calculation speed remarkably. Furthermore, created a sparse matrix class to realize the functions to find and insert element and so on. By testing with the example of Substation Simulation Training System, it testified that this multi- fault calculation module can calculate correctly.
