Reliability is an ability of product for completing a set function in a set time and a set requirement. With the process and development of society, more and more attention is paid to the reliability of products. Reliability-based sensitivity analysis techniques have become an important part of reliability design. With the development of reliability design, reliability-based sensitivity analysis will play a more important role. In this paper, based on Response Surface Methodology (RSM), a reliability sensitivity method be put forward to ensure the effect on the reliability of engineering mechanical structures due to the change of design parameter, consequently, the reasonable and necessary theoretical foundation be offered for mechanical structures design, manufacture, using and evaluation.There are 5 Chapters in all in the dissertation, and the main research contents of the dissertation are as follows:Chapter 1: Introduction. We explicated the background and meaning of the dissertation; introduced the rise, the development and the actuality of reliability-based theory; described briefly the meaning in reliability; and set forth the initiation and development of the Response Surface Methodology in reliability. And the main content of my work was described briefly.Chapter 2: Basic theory of reliability. In Chapter 2, the basic theories and methods of reliability analysis were described briefly and the Most Probable Point Perturbation Method was explicated in detail.Chapter 3: Based on Response Surface Methodology reliability sensitivity analysis. In Chapter 3, RSM is expounded in details, and Based on Response Surface Methodology Reliability Sensitivity Analysis method is proposed. It is difficult to give out the explicit of the the reliability indexβ. RSM is used to construct the explicit expression of the reliability indexβ. Then complete quadratic polynomial response surface approximation models are constructed based on the performance analysis results. The information of the reliability indexβ, the reliability and the reliability sensitivity were obtained easily in some area coverage. The applying of RSM brings a new method to structural reliability, and then some difficult problems could be resolved effectively by RSM.Chapter 4: Mechanical and structural reliability sensitivity analysis. In this chapter, Based on Response Surface Methodology Reliability Sensitivity Analysis method is applied in the practical engineering. Three numerical examples are given to illustrate the application of the presented method. It is easy to solve the reliability sensitivity analysis problem of the correlated random variants and the random variants obeying normal distribution and nonnormal distribution by the method.Compared with the MPPPM-based reliability sensitivity analysis, this method is effective and applied.Chapter 5: Conclusions and prospects. We draw the main conclusions of this dissertation and discuss the developments prospects of mechanical and structural reliability theory research and applications.
