Nowadays, the nozzles have been widely used in industries such as the metallurgy industry, the steel industry, the petrochemical industry, medicine and so on. Thus the methods to measure the kinds of characteristics of the nozzles will be very important. The angle of the spray and the distribution of the spray water are two significant factors that affect the performances of the nozzles.Firstly, this paper introduced a Spray Angle Measuring System of Industrial Nozzles, whose principle based on image processing and un-touch measurement technique. After improving the system structure in the aspect of hardware and software, we programmed the software for the Spray Angle Measuring System with Visual C++. Finally, we analyzed the errors occurred in this system, and then gave the methods to minimize the system errors in terms of image processing and data processing. And with the actual experiments, the optimized system gained higher precision and repeatability.Secondly, this paper proposed a new type of system for measuring the distribution of spray water, which uses the ultrasonic liquid level transducer with scanning system to achieve the distribution. After introducing the relative notions and principles, we designed the whole system. Then we finished the design of signal emission and receiving cell by choosing the proper ultrasonic liquid level transducer and the data capture card. Finally, with the self-programmed capture program, we calibrated the ultrasonic liquid level transducer, discovered some problems existing in the sensor and suggested the corresponding novel ways to solve these problems.The main works include:1. Improving the Spray Angle Measuring System, choosing the proper video capture card, programming the software for the Spray Angle Measuring System, and integrating it with the LSA software in one interface;2. Analyzing the errors occurred in the Spray Angle Measuring System, and optimizing the system;3. Designing a new type of system for measuring the distribution of the spray water, choosing the proper ultrasonic liquid level transducer and the data capture card;4. Programming the capture program for the distribution of water measuring system;5. Calibrating the ultrasonic liquid level transducer.
