The biomass energy is used a lot taking 15% of the total energy consumed, only less than coal and petroleum. It can be used as both fuel and a clean energy to generate electricity and is the only renewable energy that could be transported and stored. With the decrease of the reserves, the difficulty and danger in the exploitation increases and meanwhile there are a lot of pollution problems during the exploitation. Recently the biomass energy is drawing more and more attention. The biomass energy is quite rich in our country. It could be gasified apart from just burning. The gasification of the biomass has a lot of advantages such as technically simple, low cost and zero CO2 emission and so on. It has a great prospect in China.The biomass gasification is a process that turns the hydrocarbon in the biomass to flammable gas like CO and H2 etc under certain thermodynamic conditions. It includes pyrogenation reaction, oxidation reaction and deoxidizes reaction. There are solid impurity, liquid impurity and some microelement in the gas coming out of the gasified bed, which have to be removed in order to be taken use of. At present the gasified biomass is mainly used in gas supply, the drying of some material and electricity generation etc. Generally the gasification of the biomass is usually used in these ways, like draft moving-bed, fixed-bed, a single fluidized bed, fast fluidized bed and circulating fluidized bed reactor.After specified theoretical calculation, simulation and the optimization of the experiment system, the flow of the biomass fluidized bed of the second gasification experiment system and the scheme of the cold test and hot test are decided. Meanwhile the debug and test of the big fluidized bed experiment in the cold test and the running in the hot test have been done. In the cold test a series of experiments have been done against testing materials with different diameters and different height of fixed-bed. The main operating parameters such as critical air velocity,grid resistance and material resistance are obtained which has a very important conductive meaning in the practical hot test.In the hot test a series of experiment have been done during which the thermodynamic performance curve is drawn. By sorting and analyzing the data, factors like temperature, fluid speed, the amount of the secondary air, the catalytic, the medium, air ration, steam injection and fuel–bound etc to the process, result and component are obtained. The research provides theoretical foundations for the developing of the large-scale biomass gasification and valuable experience for the industrialization of the biomass gasification.
