In recent years, domestic and international frequent power big outages exposed the weaknesses and inherent problems in power system. Meanwhile the domestic growing network expansion has also brought new problems; therefore it is a currently important task to guarantee the security and stability of the grid. Wide area measurement system (WAMS) provides with real-time synchronize information of the whole power grid for monitoring and control, which is a tuning point. Predictive control faces the industrial process, has low requirement of model and compute easily, and adapts rolling optimization technology, therefore it is suitable for on-line applications. In this paper, it uses date after-failure of power grid provided by WAMS, predicting and extending the generator power angle track, for stability analysis and control of the system.The paper firstly outlines the application of WAMS in power system's steady state and transient state, and the researches on transient stability predictive control of power system. Then it illustrates the structure of transient stability predictive control system based on WAMS, and discusses PMU configuration according to system unisonant groups in unisonant characteristic, and improves real time data five-point filter.The core part of the paper in the first place proposes the idea of predicting power angle according to the trajectory's characteristic, and in the light of the idea proposes power angle Prony predicting method aiming at the damped oscillation characteristic of the system state variable after fault, discusses the generator power angle short term and dynamic process forecasts after fault based on WAMS measuring data, comparing with the polynomial predicting method, validates the method with examples and the results are good. In the next place, it proposes the stability practical criterion in multi-machine environment, and uses the criterion in power angle stability predictive control based on WAMS.At the end of the thesis, the main results of the research are summarized, and the further work on power system stability predictive control based on WAMS is pointed out as well.
