With the development of economy and adjustment of city energy structure, generalization of heating, cooling and power, advances of the key technology, the occurrence of micro-gas turbine and fuel cell, distributed cooling, heating and power technology has been widely caused attention. While existing CHP system in China has been in poor economic performance, it not only relates to specific energy cost, power regulation and other institutional factors, but also reflects the existing problem in the CHP load forecasting analysis and system configuration. This paper will do the research in optimal operation and economic performance of the CHP system with the storage device. This paper establishes the heat, electricity and cooling load of an office building with 50000m2 area in Beijing on the day in summer and winter. On the base of determining the capacity of equipments, this paper also establishes the partial load condition model of each equipment, equation between the thermal, power and consumption of gas, and the energy balance in water-storage.With 24 hours a day for a cycle and the overall operating cost per day for the minimum objective function, this paper establishes the optimal operation of the mathematical model of the CHP system with a storage device in a typical summer and winter day and gets the optimal results with the methods of Dynamic Programming and Linear Programming. There can be seen from the optimal results that the storage device achieve in transferring the heat (cold) and the role of deleting the peak and filling in the trough. There is an optimal volume of the storage from the operating cost and utilization of waste heat. The paper also discusses the impact of the energy price on the CHP system. With the office building in Beijing as the study object, this paper evaluates the CHP system whether has the storage device and the conventional system by the economic indicators. By the comparative analysis, this paper comes to the conclusion that the CHP system with the storage device has the best economic performance.
