On the basic of preceding work of this project and the research production of this field, the structure, detect and control method are analyzed. The compentation detect method and the control method of UPQC are researched as major aspects in this paper.In this paper, p - q and i p - iqwhich are used widespread in practice are studied deeply and be obtained their limitations. They are only used in the circuit of three-phase three-wire system. When the three-phase voltage is not symmetric or includes harmonic, p - q will generate detect error. In this paper, a novel compensation detection method based on generalized instantaneous reactive power and synchronous transform method is proposed, which is used in the circumstances of three-phase voltage non-symmetric. The simulation results verify that the detect method is right and effectual.In order to improve the tracking performance of UPQC, in this paper, a novel hysteresis control method based on voltage space vector control method is proposed. This proposed method has fast tracking response, high control longitude, good compensation effect, and it can be realized simply without complicated vector transform. The simulation results show that the proposed method is valid and feasible.At last, the main circuit built based on the DSP controller. basically realizes compensation control of UPQC. Power supply circuit, detection circuit for sensor, zero-crossing detector and isolation circuit and so on are designed. The software program is programmed including compensation detection algorithm, IIR digital filter program and control algorithm. And the experiment on UPQC is analyzed.
