The application of electronic transformer brings sampling time synchronization problem,this paper introduces the creative IEEE1588 which is Precision Time Protocol into the synchronization time electric power system.The paper analysis the principle and communication mechanism of IEEE1588 which is Precision Time Protocol,analyzed the influence factors of the clock synchronization and solutions,using the method of auxiliary,through FPGA hardware message timestamp and accurate to capture the dynamic compensation crystal frequency drift means for realizing the timestamp,put forward three kinds of requirements to stand in substation,big dipper GPS clock synchronization scheme for the system clock time,make provide accurate to the subtle level between equipment,satisfy the definition of synchronous IEC61850 three levels of synchronous sampling accuracy,and value of simple structure,easy to be realized. For realizing the digitized substation provides a forceful support.
