It is important necessary and practical significant to research and resolve 500kV transformer protection in practical engineering problems.The paper first points out the problems of the 500kV transformer protection configuration.It makes a program of double main protection configuration,which is based on the operation logic rather than on the lock logic,a method for promoting the sensitivity and the speed by changing the main protection configuration.It calculated the time limit of the 500kV transformer thermal stability and explored the question that between the back-up protection and thermal stability the transformer.With the combination of engineering practice,an effective pilot program which is used for comprehensively testing the current secondary circuit of transformer is suggested in the paper.It Analyses the reason for the autotransformer public winding overload and make a solution.Finally,the paper compares to study the programs for the interface of transformer protection and busbar protection,and select the optimal solution.
