Electric traction as a driving force for mass transit traction is booming in the world.But this type of load during its operation generates tremendous negative sequence and harmonic currents which flow in the power system causing voltage,current asymmetric and wave distortion.This makes power quality become wores.In view of this situation,a lot of traction substation compensation programs are raised on in improving the power factor and eliminating the high harmonics at home and abroad.But it is difficult to solve the problem of negative sequence.So,a comprehensive compensation package based on MCR is put forward.In this thesis,the basic structure and the operation principle of magnetic valve controllable reactor are studied,and the mathematic model is also established.An effective method of restraining the harmonics of the controllable reactor poured into power grid itself by using phase-shifting winding is presented.Furthermore,the high speed excitation of magnetic valve controllable reactor is also discussed.On this basis Comprehensive compensation algorithm for traction systems is Put forward.MCR match with fixed capacitance is used in reactive power compensation.The EMTDC/PSCAD based simulation results verify the effectiveness and correctness of the proposed scheme.
