The pneumatic conveying means transforming the solid particles with compressed gas power. With the technological development, the pneumatic conveying has already been widely applied in industry. But, due to the high energy cost the using have some limits. The research on the energy-saving of the pneumatic conveying is very significant for industry production and saving national energy sources. In this paper, the influent factors of energy cost in the pneumatic conveying are analyzed, the energy-saving methods of the pneumatic conveying are researched, test verification has been done to attest to save energy of the pneumatic conveying using the two–by-pass pipeline system and the adjustable LAVAL nozzle based on the mechanism of pneumatic conveying.First, the background about the thesis, meaning, method and thinking of the research are explained; development history of the pneumatic conveying is be represented;the characteristic of pneumatic conveying is be summarized briefly; pneumatic conveying are classed based on the mechanism of pneumatic conveying. The basic parameters of pneumatic conveying are researched。The necessity and significance of the energy–saving in pneumatic conveying system is discussed. The reducing energy cost of the pneumatic conveying methods is analyzed by the following several sides: material properties effect on choice of the transportation way, comparison energy cost of dilute phase conveying with the dense, comparison energy cost of the dilute phase pneumatic conveying with the positive dilute phase pneumatic conveying, pipeline material effect on energy cost of the pneumatic conveying, conveying pipeline (supply ways, two-by-pass system, layout of the supply air pipelines and the stepped pipelines) effect on the energy cost, operational optimization of the conveying engineering, optimization control of the multi-system, analysis the energy saving of the air supply equipment, choice the air tank in pneumatic conveying system, choice cooling and drying ways of the compressed gas and pneumatic component(reducing valve, proportional valve, filter, flow control valve and LAVAL nozzle).Test verification has been done to attest to save energy methods of the pneumatic conveying which had got through theoretical analysis and calculation. It has compared the gas consumption of the by-pass system with the two-by-pass through experiment; also attested to the air flow and particle degradation through experiment equipment using the adjustable LAVAL nozzle, the equipment system belongs to the dense double pipeline conveying, and the by-pass pipeline is controlled. The test results have confirmed that using two–by-pass pipeline system and adjustable LAVAL nozzle could save energy.In the end, It has presented the generalization of this paper research, and put forward the prospect of the energy saving research in pneumatic conveying system.
