The ice thermal storage technology is one of the successful measures of shifting on-peak electricity loads to off-peak periods. Combined with the low temperature air supply, the ice storage system can create a better economic efficiency. However, when using low temperature air supply system, there may be appear the "cold air" falling or "hot air" floating that will lead to the problem air can not be fully mixed with the air in work area. All these prompt us to study the air distribution to analyze whether it contents the human comfort.Computational fluid dynamics(CFD) method is adopted in this paper to study the characteristic of indoor air distribution through the numerical simulation of cold air distribution at three-dimensional right angle coordinate. The high Reynolds number standard k -εturbulence model, wall function, and inlet model are used to establish a three-dimensional turbulence mathematical model of a cold air distribution system with ice storage room. Through the experimental date to testify that the models adopted in this paper are correct. Then simulated different temperature distribution and used the simulation results to analyze the comfort. These will provide the valuable reference in practical application of cold air distribution system with ice storage in the future.
