In this paper, the fire hazard of the aircraft tank is analyzed first, the fuel tank ignition sources which will be come out and fuel-air mixture flammability analysis. Several fuel tank explosion prevention technology is compared. Two kinds of On Board Inert Gas Generator System(OBIGGS) which use the latest air separation technology has been introduced and compared. The analytical model which be used to predict the oxygen concentration under the fuel scrubbing and ullage washing is introduced. The models which predict the nitrogen volume needed in the process of cruise and descent were introduced, too. The experiment installation has been set up,the oxygen in the fuel and ullage volume are both measured. According to compare the predicted data from the analytical model with the experimental data, in order to validate the veracity of the fuel scrubbing model. The three different condition under constant temperature and constant pressure, pressure changing and constant fuel volume, pressure changing and fuel depletion are selected, using inert gas scrub the fuel which ullage volume is 10% and 50%, and measure the oxygen concentration in the ullage. The oxygen concentration on 10% and 50% ullage volume in fuel tank under fuel volume constant and pressure changing condition using nitrogen to scrub the fuel. And the oxygen concentration on the two ullage volume under the condition that the pressure is changing and fuel depletion was tested. In order to evaluate scrubbing effect of the inert gas which contains 5% oxygen according to the analysis to the experiment data, the effect of pressure descend, fuel depletion and ullage volume on the inerting process are evaluated.
