Study On Relay Protection Training System Considering Power Network Models

With the new achievements of power system simulation technology, a software design method was proposed to implement training system of relay protection based on the object-oriented technology. In the system, simulation of protection is based on results of electromagnetic transient calculation of DDRTS and the exchange of data through the real-time database; and library of various secondary equipment models is established by using Dynamic Link Library Technology, the simulation modules of protection equipmen are built up by these algorithm modules. And, Man-Computer interface of virtual relay protection device is developed by using operation of scripts and configuration files, which can meet the requirements of versatility. Through friendly visual operation interface and simulation of relay protection basing on discrimination of setting, the working principle and whole action progress of relay protection instrument can be reproduced truly in this system which is helpful for training operating staff, especially new staff. By this way, staff's professional skills and the level of operation and maintenance of the relay protection can be improved greatly.
