In the power transmission line project, as the improving of the voltage level and the increasing of the electrical equipment weight, the insulators structure has been wildly applied in Power System, and it becomes a main supporting structure in electric power project. However, compared with reinforced concrete structure and steel structure, insulators structure is relatively rare and the brittleness of its main materials, the theoretical research of insulators structure lags behind the actual engineering application and little research on its overall seismic performance is done at home and abroad.In this paper,overall seismic performance of the insulators structure used in reactors is analyzed. First, using the finite element software SAP2000, the calculation models of supporting insulators structure and space truss supporting Insulator structure were established, and its dynamic characteristics were studied by modal analysis. Secondly, we study the deformation and internal forces of each bar of this structures under 8 degree earthquake by the base shear method, response spectrum analysis method,respectively; Thirdly, using time history analysis method, the largest structures displacement range and the maximum internal force of each bars were obtained under the five-string resonance, According to the analysis results, the weakest parts of this structure was identified.According to the results of the analysis we can get the following conclusions:the space truss supporting Insulator structure-based has high-frequency, which response characteristics of its high-stiffness; structure with accordion-vibration mode; time history analysis method can observe the structure seismic response of the whole process, and this method is an effective complement of response spectrum analysis method, the calculation results show that the bottom of the insulator structure is the weakest part, which requires special attention; The value of structure response calculated by time history analysis method much larger than that caculated by spectrum analysis method, so this type of structure should be analyzed by dynamic analysis. The results in this paper can provide a necessary knowledge of seismic performance of this new structure for designer and promote the application of the space truss supporting snsulator structure in the power system.
