Comparison studies of main traits and planting methods between different waxy corn varieties had been conducted. The correlation between fresh ear yields and relative agronomic traits were analyzed by method of grey correlative degree Analysis. Based on comprehensive evaluation, several good varieties were screened out among 12 tested varieties. The effects of transplanting and direct-sowing were compared by using Xiangnongbainuo 2 as tested material. The main results are as follows:1.The values of the correlation degree between fresh-cob yield and main agronomic traits among different varieties were sequenced as follows: ear position height > plant height > growth duration > ear length > kernel numbers per row > three leaves area near the ear >ear wide > row number of seeds per ear. This sequence indicated the effects of different traits on yields.2.Taking Zhongnuo 1 as the control, growth duration, economic traits and yields were compared among 12 tested varieties, and the comprehensive evaluation was conducted. The yield of Xixingnuo 1 is the highest and that of Xiangnongbainuo 2 is the second, significant higher than that of Zhongnuo 1. Xiangnongbainuo 2 possesses such good traits as high protein content, high lysine content, good quality and high yield, its protein and lysine contents were 10.95% and 0.4% respectively, worth to be demonstrated and popularized ulteriorly.3.The comparison study of transplanting and direct sowing showed that the plant height and ear position in direct sowing treatment were 12.4% and 20.4% higher than that of transplanting respectively. However, the multi-ear rate of transplanting treatment was 19.4% higher than that of direct sowing treatment.
