BackgroundSchistosomiasis japonica is a zoonotic parasitic disease, faeces of infected with schistosomiasis host polluted islet is the important link of schistosomiasis transmission, human and animal were infected schistosomiasis by uncovered contact with water contaminated by cercaria.There are some difficulties of marshland isolation and farming prohibition in the endemic areas, and easily repeated, the lake marshland with snails were polluted by wild faeces seriously, cattle manure most; The period of lake marshland just flood is the high incidence of schistosomiasis infection,in order to reduce the susceptibility bottomland risk of schistosomiasis transmission, it is necessary to deal with the wild faeces and cercaria which polluted islet. Rongbao is one of the molluscicide as a fertilizer role, laboratory studies show that has destroyed the schistosome eggs and cercariae role. The effects and dose of destroy the schistosome eggs and cercariae in cattle manure in the field study should be further explored. Therefore it is necessary to do more in-depth study on Rongbao kill the schistosome eggs and cercariae.ObjectiveObserve the morphology of schistosome eggs change by Rongbao,to provide a reference for explore the mechanism of Rongbao destroy schistosome eggs. To evaluate the effect of field study on schistosome eggs in cattle manure and cercariae killed by Rong Bao, and obtained the appropriate methods of pesticide application and the effective dose to provide a reference for field application.MethodsCompare schistosome eggs morphology changed by Rongbao observed under the microscope; choose the trial areas with positive wild faeces and positive snails in marshland lakes endemic areas, through field test to compare the different seasons, different drug use modes and different dose effect of Rongbao destroy schistosome eggs, using semi-quantitative method of counting miracidia; research the effect of Rongbao kill cercariae by sentry mice test when the lake marshland just flood.ResultsAfter schistosome eggs were treatmented by5%Rongbao, the color gradually deepened,the miracidia atrophied, egg shell thicken, and after were treatmented1day the embryo membrane integrated, while after7days, the embryo membrane was damaged severely. In summer, autumn and winter, the miracidia number were hatched significant differences among treatment group and control group, time to kill or inhibit the eggs were needed1-2days in summer,2-3days in autumn, mostly needed3days in winter, while control group have still hatching miracidia in7days; The effect of the three drug use modes to destroy the eggs have no significant difference, compare with the drugs and cattle dung mixing group, drug sprinkle cattle dung surface group and cattle dung embedded drug group;3%and5%(w/w) dose have the same effect of kill eggs. Rongbao10g/m3sprayed into the water surface when the lake marshland with snail just flood, the rate of sentry mice infection was10%before using drug, and sentry mice infection were not found after treatmented in1day,15days and30days.ConclusionsRongbao has effect of damage schistosoma eggs in cattle dung in summer, autumn and winter, the dose of3%drug spread on the surface of cattle dung is more suitable for field applications; and also has effect of kill cercariae when the lake marshland with snail just flood sprayed it10g/m3into the water surface.
