Clinical Observation On Treatment Of Meat Gland Dysfunction And Its Related Dry Eye By Nourishing Yin And Clearing Heat, Strengthening Spleen And Resolving Phlegm

OBJECTIVES:To observe and controlled analyze the clinical effects of meibomian gland dysfun-ction and its related dry eye with the treatment of nourishing yin to clear away heat and invigorating spleen to reduce phlegm.And in order to find the common method of treating meibomian gland dysfunction and its related dry eye by traditional Chinese medicine.METHOD:Using the randomized and controlled observation.Fifity-eight patients with MGD were selected and divided into two comparable groups randomly.The observation group (n=29)were treated with the method of nourishing yin to clear away heat and invig-orating spleen to reduce phlegm combined with washing conjunctival sac,meibomian gland massage,lid hygiene,artificial Lubricants and topical antibiotic agent;the control g-roup (n=29)used washing conjunctival sac,meibomian gland massage,lid hygiene,artifici-al Lubricants and topical antibiotic agent.After two months’treatment,four patients we-re lost,observed the variation including OSDI,expressibility and secretion quality of m-eibomian glands,BUT,FLT and SIT before and after treatment.RESULTS:1 After treatment,the total effective rate of the observation group was 89.29%,wh-ile in the control group was 61.54%.The difference of the comparison above was evi-dent,which had statistical significance(P<0.05).The observation group was better than t-he control goup.2 The observation group had some superiority on controlled group in OSDI,expre-ssibility and secretion quality of meibomian glands and BUT.and their difference had statistical meaning(p<0.05).3 The observation group was effective in FLT and SIT,but the controlled group was ineffective.CONCLUSIONS:1 It is effective that the method of nourishing yin to clear away heat and invigo-rating spleen to reduce phlegm combined with wstern routine therapy,and better than simple western medicine routine treatment.Especially,the traditional Chinese medicine,in improving subjective symptoms,expressibility and secretion quality of meibomian glan-ds and enhancing the stability of tear film had a good efficacy.2 It might have some effect that using the treatment of nourishing yin to clear a way heat and invigorating spleen to reduce phlegm combined with wstern routine ther-apy in increasing tear volume and repairing of coneal epithelium damage,but the cont-rolled group had no effection with FLT and SIT.
