A Study On The Differences Of TCM Syndromes Related To Mild Cognitive Function Damage In Ningbo And Beijing

[Objects]Through clinical investigation, research the TCM syndromes distribution and differences of patients with mild cognitive impairment in Ningbo and Beijing areas. Probe the reasons of the differences in different areas to provide a basis for traditional Chinese medicine treatment of MCI.[Method]According to the diagnostic criteria established by EADC MCI working group, we select 93 cases of patients with MCI in Ningbo and Beijing areas. With the TCM syndromes diagnostic criteria proposed by Capital Medical Development Fund MCI Group in 2008, we identify the TCM Syndrome of patients in both two areas. We analysis the TCM syndromes distribution characteristics, compare the difference of BMI, lipids and TCM syndromes in the two groups, and research the TCM syndromes correlated with age.[Result]1. Basic information:there is no significant difference between Ningbo and Beijing groups in age, gender and education level.2. BMI:The average body mass index of Ningbo group is less than Beijing group. BMI of the two groups has no significant differences in men, but the women’s BMI of Ningbo group is significantly lower than Beijing’s.3. Lipids:HDL-C of Ningbo group is significantly higher than that of Beijing. There is no difference between TC and LDL-C in the two groups.4. TCM syndromes distribution:The TCM syndromes distribution of Ningbo group from more to less:Yin deficiency and hyperactivity of Yang, Deficiency of the spleen and kidney, Excessive heat toxin inside, Deficiency of Qi and blood, Stagnation of the brain arteries by blood stasis, Blocking the mentality by turbid phlegm, Retention of turbid in intestines. The TCM syndromes distribution of Beijing group from more to less:Deficiency of the spleen and kidney, Yin deficiency and hyperactivity of Yang, Deficiency of Qi and blood, Blocking the mentality by turbid phlegm, Excessive heat toxin inside, Retention of turbid in intestines, Stagnation of the brain arteries by blood stasis. Single syndromes are rare in both groups, and the vast majority is complex syndromes.5. TCM syndromes difference:The patients in Ningbo group who are diagnosed with Blocking the mentality by turbid phlegm and Retention of turbid in intestines are significantly less than which in Beijing. The probability of single syndromes of Ningbo group is higher than Beijing’s. When 60-74 year old group compares with 50-59 group, there is more Excessive heat toxin inside in Ningbo, more Retention of turbid in intestines in Beijing. At the same time, the patients who are more than 75 year old are more likely to be diagnosed with Deficiency of the spleen and kidney when compared with 50-59 years old group in Beijing group.[Conclusion]1. TCM syndromes distribution:No matter in Ningbo or Beijing Deficiency of the spleen and kidney and Yin deficiency and hyperactivity of Yang are both the basic syndrome of MCI. Moreover, the probability of Deficiency of the spleen and kidney increases with age. Single syndromes are rare in MCI, and the vast majority is complex syndromes.2. TCM syndromes difference:The patients who are diagnosed with Blocking the mentality by turbid phlegm and Retention of turbid in intestines in Ningbo area are much less than Beijing. When 60-74 year old group compares with 50-59 group, there is more Excessive heat toxin inside in Ningbo, more Retention of turbid in intestines in Beijing.
