The method of Treatment of Western medicine for Rhinitis sicca is mainly through the localy moist the nasal cavity. The method to treatment atrophic rhinitis is to improve the nutritional status, change the habits of life, the drugs to nasal irrigation, the operation or drugs to narrow the nasal cavity. To reduce nasal ventilation and the water what evaporation, and reduce the dryness of nasal and scabby. The advantages of oral or local administration is to alleviate the dry condition of nasal mucosa atrophy in a certain extent. the disadvantages of operation is to bring the pain to patients however the effect of treatment is not perfectly. Compared with it, the method of TCM in the treatment of Atrophic rhintis has the less side effects and the better effects of treatment. By observing the change of name of disease, etiology and pathogenesis, syndrome differentiation and treatment, to summarize the recognition of these literature to this disease.Result The complete study of ancient literature of Atrophic rhintis is relatively rare, the earliest symptoms is "dry nose", "atrophic rhinitis", "nose gao". It is belongs into the scope of the disease of Atrophic rhinitis and rhinitis sicca in modern medicine.The ancient doctors believed that the main etiology and pathogenesis to Atrophic rhintis is "The deficiency of qi and imbalance of yin and yang in the viscera of Lung and Spleen and Stomach and Liver and Gallbladder and Kidney and other visceras lead to the dry evil invasion the Lung and the stagnation of qi, the stasis of blood".
