| Background:Currently surgical treatment of thyroid disease is more common in clinical practice,some patients may cause temporary or permanent hypothyroidism after surgery,after surgery taking levothyroxine sodium tablets (Euthyrox) for patients, which would control the symptoms of hypothyroidism occur and (or signs). But it is found in clinical that,thyroxine can not simply add improvement to the symptoms due to the psychological burden,mental stress, and other factors arising after surgery.Furthermore, adverse reactions are more thyroid hormone therapy.Based on such a background, exploring to use of Chinese medicine characteristics,improve postoperative hormone levels, symptoms and signs.Objective:Observation of Western and traditional Chinese medicine Euthyrox Wenyang soup with a single treatment with Euthyrox differences in postoperative hypothyroidism thyroid disease therapy and discuss its possible mechanism of action in order to facilitate clinical practice.Materials and Methods:Collected from January 2005 to December 2014, at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine,Dongzhimen Hospital General Surgery diagnosed with hypothyroidism,thyroid surgery 60 patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group, n=30; retrospective research and analysis. In the control group were treated with medicine alone Euthyrox therapy.The sun warmed soup observation group therapy based on Western medicine.Results:1.After treatment, TSH, FT3, FT4, the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05)。2. Comparison of symptom score:The two groups were compared between TCM syndrome efficacy, before integrating observation group 10.53±2.52, after treatment,3.60± 1.00, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3. The number of taking Euthyrox follow-up of two years:the control group,eight patients reviewed several times the normal levels of thyroid function, not taking Euthyrox, but accounted for 55% is still taking Euthyrox. The number of the observation group was only 25% of the number of follow-up, both groups in statistically significant, there was a significant difference (P<0.05). This shows that the combined effect of temporary medicine for hypothyroidism after better than Western medicine group.4. Euthyrox taking process, the time required for a stable dose:30 patients in the observation group, Euthyrox stable dose required time average of less than one month.30 patients in the control group, after taking the dose needed to stabilize Euthyrox relatively long time, fluctuations, an average of close to two months. Description joint Wenyang soup can reduce Euthyrox after adjustment time.5. Statistics show that in the clinical syndromes of thyroid surgery to insomnia, palpitations, depression and other symptoms are more prominent, former Tibial edema, dry skin, memory loss performance is not outstanding.Conclusion:After combined surgical treatment of thyroid disease in Western medicine symptoms or signs,its efficacy is superior to western medicine alone. Explains Chinese medicine in the treatment of hypothyroidism providing a viable methods,after a series of Western medicine is not obvious symptoms,such as insomnia,palpitation.And Wenyang soup can short time that Euthyrox required to adjust dose,and also reduce the cost of the economy. After 2 years of follow-up, the number of observation group taking Euthyrox significantly less than the control group, but reflects the Integrative Medicine to improve the role of postoperative hypothyroidism, the effect is obvious. The mechanism may be combined with Chinese medicine can promote rapid return to normal secretory function of the thyroid gland, and improve the body’s immune function by molecular medicine. |
