Preliminary Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Alopecia Areata By

Literature review:The literature review is subdivided into two parts. The first part summarizes the progress on the topical treatment of alopecia areata. The second reviews the experimental animal models of alopecia areata. Spontaneous alopecia areata models include the C3H/HeJ mice and DEBR rats. But both success rates are low and not readily available. Full-thickness skin graft and drug induction are the main modeling methods.Clinical research:Objective:To compare and evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of self-made Shengfa tincture and Shengfa gel. To improve the dosage form of hospital self-made hair external preparation. To provide the data base for market promotion in the future.Methods:We performed a prospective, autologous control trial to compare these two treatment strategies.35 cases with multifocal alopecia areata or alopecia totalis participated in the test. According to the median sagittal line of head, the left side is treated by Shengfa gel and the right by Shengfa tincture. The course of both sides lasted 3 months. Observe the change of lesion areas, scalp and hair color with the camera and microscope image acquisition. Estimate symptom scores, new hair quantity and image analysis result to compare the curative effect of the two drugs.Results:According to the symptom score changes before and after treatment, gel side integral drop ratio was 0.491±0.393, while tincture side was 0.432±0.387(P=0.099> 0.05). The efficiency of gel side was 37.14%, which was slightly higher than tincture side(P=0.921> 0.05). There were no obvious differences between the two groups. But the Shengfa gel got more subjective satisfaction of patients.Conclusion:After the optimization of prescription and preparation, Shengfa gel has more superiority and safety than Shengfa tincture. The new dosage form is convenient to carry, storage and transportation. It is worthy of clinical application.
