Clinical Observation On The Effect Of Shengjin Jianpi Capsule On Impaired Glucose Tolerance In Qi - Yin Deficiency Type

Objective:To observe the clinical effects of Shengjinjianpi capsules in treatment impaired glucose tolerance with syndrome of deficiency of both qi and yin, and to explore the intervention mechanism and its security.Methods: Taking the method of randomized, controlled prospective parallel, 80 patients with IGT were randomly divided into treatment group(n=40) and the control group(n=40). Treatment group received regular diet and behavior intervention plus Shengjinjianpi Capsules treatment with 4 capsules each time, 3 times a day orally. Meanwhile, the control group received regular diet and behavior intervention plus Ginsengmilkvetch decling sugar granules treatment with 1 bag each time, 3 times a day orally. Four weeks was a course of treatment, and observed three courses of treatment. Observation time last for 12 months, the main outcome measures are as follows: the clinical symptoms and signs, mass index(BMI), fasting blood-glucose(FPG), 2h postprandial blood glucose(2h PG), hemoglobin A1c(Hb A1c), Fasting insulin(FINS), Total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG), low densith lipoprotein(LDL-C). At the same time, the curative effect was evaluated.Results: After 12 weeks of treatment, the blood sugar, blood fat and glycosylated hemoglobin, insulin levels, body, mass index, clinical symptom of the treatment group were obviously improved, which showed statistical difference from the control group. During the tests adverse reactions did not appear.Conclusion: The Shengjinjianpi capsules has curative effect on IGT patients: decrease blood sugar, Regulate blood lipid metabolism, and waist-hip ratios and Improve insulin function. And the drug can be safely used and it may reverse IGT and delay the procedure of IGT to diabetes mellitus.
