| Aching feeling is the main cause for people seeing a doctor. Aching feeling has caused heavy burden to patient and society. It is an important task for us to reduce the pain in patients. Chinese medicines, which can promote the blood circulation and qi circulation, are often used to relieve pain in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine)Zanthoxylum dissitum Hemsl, also called ’danmianzhen’, is a chinese medicine with root and stem, and has various clinical effects, such as expelling wind, dissipating (blood) stasis, relieving pain. At present, what chemical constituents for relieving pain in danmianzhen and their mechanism are still unknown, there are few documents on those works.Based on our previous works on anti-microbial of lipophilic constituents from danmianzhen, the oxidative stress and inflammatory response in pain trigger our interesting. At first, which part extracts from danmianzhen should be determined, then what constituents in the part will be answered. At last, the main isolated compounds will be evaluated their antioxidant activities.1. By mice auricle swelling induced by xylene, acetic acid writhing and DPPH method, chloroform extracts from danmianzhen was shown good anti-inflammatory, killing pain and antioxidant activities.2.13compounds were isolated from the chloroform extracts from danmanzhen. They are dictamnine, γ-fagarine,4-O-methy1-1-methyl-quinolin-2-one, norchelerythrine, scoparone, syringlaldehyde, coniferyl aldehyde,7-keto-β-sitosterol, myristic acid, n-hexacosanoic acid,1-octadecanethiol, β-sitosterol andβ-daucosterol.3.By DPPH· method, four alkaloids including dictamnine, γ-fagarine,4-0-methyl-1-methyl-quinolin-2-one and norchelerythrine were evaluated their antioxidant activites. The result showed four alkaloids own certain antioxidant activites.
