In this thesis, the extraction and refining methods of Jatropha curcas L. seed oil and Rubber seed oil, preparation and characterization of solid base catalysts for catalyzing transesterification, optimization of transesterification conditions and properties of biodiesel products were systematically investigated. The main results are as follows:1. Microwave-assisted extraction is considered to be the optimal method for the oil extraction among the four different extraction methods because of its high efficiency and short extraction time. The suitable conditions for the microwave-assisted extraction of Jatropha curcas L. seed oil are shown as follows: solid-liquid ratio 1:11, extraction temperature 70℃, extraction time 2 h, microwave power 500W. Under these conditions the yield of crude oil from the kernel of Jatropha curcas L. seed was 55.6%. The suitable conditions for the microwave-assisted extraction of Rubber seed oil are as follows: solid-liquid ratio 1:11, extraction temperature 70℃, extraction time 2 h, microwave power 400W. The yield of crude oil was 44.1% under these conditions.2. The results of catalysts selection experiments showed that K2CO3/Al2O3 solid base catalyst displayed highest catalytic activity. Its suitable preparation conditions are: loading amount of K2CO3 5mmol/g, calcination temperature 600℃, calcination time 4 h. Furthermore, the preliminary characterization of K2CO3/Al2O3 catalyst was carried out by TG-DTA and XRD analysis.3. The suitable process conditions of transesterification catalyzed by solid base are shown as follows: methanol-oil molar ratio 8:1, catalyst amount 5% (based on oil mass), reaction temperature 65℃, reaction time 3 h. The yield of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) prepared from Jatropha curcas L. seed oil and Rubber seed oil were 93.7% and 93.5% respectively under the above conditions.4. The main properties (density, kinematic viscosity, heat value, flash point, acid value and cetane number) of the obtained biodiesel products accord with the current American and Chinese biodiesel standards and can be used as fuel of diesel engine.
