Caries Activity Test In Five To Six Years Old Children

Purpose:To study the caries activity of high caries-susceptible people by two methods and to study their clinic value. Method: 68 children about 5-6 years old were selected. According to caries status, caries-free(dft=O) subjects of 23 children and caries-active(dft ≥7) subjects of 19 children were divided into two groups. The test was finished with Strip mutans test and resazurin disc test. Result: The dft,CFUs on "Strip mutans"and the different color on "Resazurin disc"were significant positive correlation respectively. Regardless of each test, there was different between the caries-free group and caries-active group. Conclusion: Strip mutans test and resazurin disc test are both the sensitive index to estimate caries activity. Both of them characterize simplicity and practiced away from laboratory, especially, the resazurin disc test is still not reported so far in homeland, which can be finished in 15 minutes.
