The research and development of a minitype tourniquet instrument is discussed in this article. Traumatology and First aiding theory indicate that it is very important to do the instant emergent treatments to the injured persons whether on the battlefield or on the occasions where there is unexpected wound accident. Acute haemorrhage is the pathology base of different syndromes, so it is a crucial step to stop bleeding immediately. Besides, effective methods of hemostasia are absolutely imperative at the different phases of all medical treatments. Tourniquet is one of the instruments for hemostasia which is used frequentlly in the situation of both first aid and limbs operation in a hospital. The use of tourniquet must follow strict medical princples. There are some concrete and strict regulations about tourniquet抯 air pressure, position placed in use and using lasting time etc. It would bring some syndromes if used incorrectly. Tourniquet could be charged by manual-inflator or motor- driving-air-pump, but the efficiency of these two methods is low. A manual- inflator couldn抰 control the air pressure accurately and be used without man抯 work. A motor-driving-air-pump is too much heavy and always supplied by AC power so it isn抰 schleped expediently. All of them are not fit for using in the situation of battlefield. The aim of this study is to develop a kind of instrument which could charge and deflate quickly and efficiently, control the time of charging, deflate automatically when its work is over, alerm when there is abnonnal affairs and it should be fitted for battlefield condition. It would be smaller and lighter. This article discusses the course of our designment. Based on the traditional similar instruments, combining the aim of this task, our thoughts come ture partly here. This instrument is managed by single-chip-computer circuit, and the program is compiled with MCS-5 I -2- language. Its main function modules include kernel control module, power supply module, keyboard-display module, A/D module, air pressure monitor module, signal process module and output control module.
