Part â…  To study the effects of glucocorticoid (e-g Dexamethasone) on the withdrawal syndromes in morphine dependent rats precipitated by naloxone. Thirty SD rats were divided randomly into five groups (n=6) .To establish a morphine dependent rat model, the pattern of gradually increased doses of morphine (from 5mg.kg-1?to 270mg.kg-1,12 days, ip)was used; Morphine dependent rats were treated with dexamethasone in various dose 30 minute before withdrawal syndromes were precipitated by naloxone (4mg.kg-1,ip). The abstinence symptom scores were determined on different time (3 hour, 24 hour, 48 hour). The withdrawal syndromes of rats were alleviated by dexamethasone in a dose of 1 Omg.kg?p
