objective: To study the effects of the gene expression of p21 WAF 1 ICLP 1 CyclinE and PCNA oncogenesis and progression of epithelial ovarian neoplasms. Methods: The expression of p21WAF1/C1P1~ CyclinE and PCNA protein in 20 cases of benign ovarian tumor,10 cases of borderline ovarian tumor and 55 cases of epithelial ovarian carcinoma were analyzed by ininninohistochemistiy technique. The relationships between the results and clinicopathological features were studied. Results: (1)Both the total positive and the strong positive expression for p21 WAF1ICIP1 in benign,borderline and malignant epitheline ovarian tumors were obvious difference(P=0.007,Pstrong=O.0O 1 )and decreased with development of ovarian tumors.The expression of p21WAF1/CIP1 in epithelial ovarian neoplasms was associated with clinical stage~ histologic grade~ lymphonode metastasis and prognosis(P=0.025 PO.000 P=0.014 P<0.00 1). (2)Both the total positive and the strong positive expression for cyclinE in benign~ borderline and malignant ovarian turners were obvious difference (wO.Ol 0,Pstrong=0.0 1 2)and increased with development of ovarian turners, The expression of CylinE in epithelial ovarian neoplasms was asociated with clinical stage. histologic grade lymphonode metastasis and ascites (pO.O37,wO.OO3 wO.0Ol p=O.O42), but it was not associated with prognosis(P>0.05).(3)Bothe the total positive and the strong positive expression for PCNA in benign boderline and malignant epithelial ovarian tumors were obvious difference (p0.004 Pstrong=O.002) and increased with development of ovarian tumors .The expression of PCNAIn epithelial ovarian neoplasms was associated with clinical stage histologic grade lymphonode metastasis ascites and prognosis (Pstrong=0.027 p=O.O32 P0.0 19 Pstrong=0.02 1 P<0.00 1 ).(4)The expression for p21 WAF 1 /C[P 1 was negative correlated with the expression for cyelinE and PCNA in epithelial ovarian neoplasms (x2=6.55 P<0.05 -0. 196, x 11.52 P<0.001 t =-0.26), the expression for CyclinE was positive correlated with the expression for PCNA in ovarian cancer (x4.36,P<0.05, T O. 13). Conclusions:The experiment suggests that p2LWAF1/CIP1 CyclinE? PCNA play important roles in oncogenesis and progression of epithelial ovarian cancers.Detection of these gene proteins has positive effects on malignancy determination? prognosis and gene trentment of ovarian cancers.
