Implant has been widely used in clinic for its effective support, good mastication, easy cleaning. What prevents it from further application is the possibility of failure, especially in the interface between implant and soft tissue. In clinic, around abortive implant, the normal soft tissues are destroyed, then disappear. At last, a series of symptoms of so called "peri-implantitis" which is similar to periodontitis, are formed, such as inflammation in soft and hard tissues around implant, pocket formation and bone resorption around implant. So how to obtain a good interface between implant and soft tissue is essential to solve as soon as possible. This article has studied the effects of two exogenous growth factors(rhBMP-2 bFGF) on attachment and growth of periodontal ligament flbroblasts on three different implant surfaces(Ti, Ti-75, Nitrogenic-titanium) by cell culture technology. The ultrastructural of attachment between periodontal ligament fibroblasts and implants has also been studied. We have provided academic evidence and effective method to get biological binding between implant and soft tissue, then improve the success chance of implant. The results are as following: 1 .The biological states of human periodontal ligament flbroblasts were better on Ti and Ti-75 implant than on Ti implant treated with Nitrogenic, which 6 implied that different surface treatments of implant had different effects on the attachment of human periodontal ligament fibroblasts. 2.Growth factors could improve the attachment and growth of human periodontal ligament fibroblasts on Ti surface, and different growth factors had different effects. bFGF could improve both the attachment and growth of human periodontal ligament fibroblasts, while rhBMP-2 had more effect on growth than attachment. 3.No hemidesmosomes structure was observed in the interface between periodontal ligament fibroblasts and implants. In the plasma of periodontal ligament fibroblasts there were a lot of intracellular organs, which showed bloom of protein formation. The periodontal ligament fibroblasts might bind with implant in a direct way. More researches should be followed.
