Objective To study the relationship of the glucocorticoid treatment time to the bone mass and metabolic makers by observing the changes of bone mass in different location and bone metabolic markers in patients with Lupus Nepbritis(LN) after long-time prednisone treatment Methods The subjects for study were divided into three groups: All 憃f them were wemen. group A with 20 cases (healthy controls), group B with 25 cases (LN before prednisone therapy) and group C with 31 cases (LN after prednisone). Their ages ranged between 16-45 years old. Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry was used to measure BMD in the lumber spine at L2-L4, the femoral neck, the Ward抯, the great trochanter(GT) and the ultradis(ULT). Simultaneously, the serum calcium, phosphate, alkaline phosphate enzyme and the PTH-M, BGP, 24-hour urine calcium, phosphate and other biochemical indices were examined in all of them. 12 patients underwent all the above examinations respectively at the end of 2 months and 4 months of treatments. Result (1)The BMI)s in the lumber spine L2-L4,Ward抯 ,GT and ULT were significantly lower in group C than in group A and group B(P
