Objective To detect the level of serum eosinophil cationic protein (ECP) and FX5E in Children with Bronchiolitis, and to explore the possible relationship between ECP and FX5E. Methods Serum ECP and FX5E of 33 children with bronchiolitis were assayed by Pharmarcia CAP System ECP FELA and Pharmarcia CAP system respectively. Results there was no significant difference of serum ECP between the Bronchiolitis group and the normal control; the positive rate of FX5E in Bronchiolitis group was not markedly higher than that of the normal control, the level of serum ECP among FX5E positive and negative groups also showed no statistical significance. Conclusion Our results found that ECP of serum did not take act in the pathogenesis of Broncholitis, and food hypersensitivity had no effect on the flaring up of Broncholitis .So it indicated that Broncholitis might not be one of the Allergy diseases.
