Clinical And Experimental Research On Bronchial Asthma Treated With Ping Chuan Fang

We have inquired into the etiology and pathogenesis of bronchial asthma and the treating principle of bronchial asthma attack by using the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the combination of TCM and Western Medicine .By means of clinical and experimental researches , we have explored the mechanism of the curative effect of Ping Chuan Fang (PCF) on bronchial asthma attack .We found that the bronchial asthma was the result of expathogenic factors acting on endopathic factors .The pathogenesis of the bronchial asthma attack was the airway blocked by phlegm and blood stasis , and the up flow of Qi. The treatment is dispersing pulmonary qi and resolving phlegm , smoothing Qi, activating blood and sedating heat. The result of clinical research showed that the total effective rate of PCF was 97. 1%.The experimental research indicated that PCF could prolong the delitescence of bronchial asthma rats which were caused by artificial hypersensitivity reaction , and reduce the levels of Tumor necrosis factor-ex (TNF- a ) ?Endothelin (ET) ^ Eos in plasma and broncho alveolar lavage fluid (BALF) as well as the Interleukin-2 (IL-2) level in plasma . Pathological study showed that PCF could restrain the assembling of Eos , and protect the integrality of bronchial mucous membrane.
