| Objective: To observe the effect of Promoting Ovulation Decoction (POD) on promoting ovulation and to explore its mechanism for androgen sterilized mice.Methods: To observe the effect of POD in sex cycle ,body wight, reproductive organ weight, serum contents of ca2+ and histomorphology of ovary for the female mice.Results: Regular sex cycles were founded and the ovulation mice increased (p<0.05) in the treated group as compared with that of the model group. After POD treatment and uterus weight increased significantly(p<0.05), but ovary weight decreased (p<0.05), it is similar to that of the normal group (p>0.05), serum level of ca2+ increased (p<0.01), The corpus luteum and the proportion of growing follicle in ovary were improved obviously, however, the total of intracytopiasmic lipid drops were decreased.Conclusion: POD is an effective recipe in promoting ovulation, the effect may be achieved through the multiple function of hypothalamus-pituitary-ovary and the part of ovary area. |
