| Objective: To study the relationship between the expression of TP and clinicopathologic variabies in gastric cancer ; To investigate the probable mechanism of TP by analyzing correlations among PCNA, MMP-2 and TP expression.Method: The expressions of TP , PCNA and MMP-2 were detected by SP (Streptavidin-Peroxidase) immunohistochemistry. Results: The expression of TP in gastric cancer was more than that in normal gastric tissues and chronic gastritis (P<0.05). Moreover, the expression of TP was correlated significantly with tumor size and the depth of local infiltration of gastric cancer(P<0.05), and not with patient's age, sex and the degree of tumor differentiation; between the gastric cancer with and without lymph node metastasis, significant difference were found in TP expression(P<0.05); TP expression in gastric cancers with distant metastasis was higher than that in gastric cancer without distant metastasis(P<0.05);with regard to the clinical stage, significant difference of TP expression were observed between â…¢ï¼â…£ stage andâ… ï¼â…¡ stage(P<0.001). The expressions of PCNA and MMP-2 in TP-positive gastric cancer tissues were higher than that in TP-negative tissues(P<0.05).Conclusion: TP expression in gastric cancer was significantly higher, and correlated with infiltration depth, lymph note metastasis, distant metastasis and clinical stage. Moreover ,TP expression was related to PCNA and MMP-2. All indicate that TP, as a angiogenesis growth factor, not only has a role in the occurrence and progression of gastric cancer, but possibly accelerate the growth, infiltration and metastasis of gastric carcinoma by promoting the expressions of PCNA and MMP-2. |
