| Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy and the side effects of Bao .Sheng Tang in the treatment of general anxiety disorder. Method: 100 patients who met CCMD-3 criteriafor general anxiety disorder were involved in this study, they were randomly assigned to Bao Sheng Tang group(n=50) and paroxetine group(n=50) for 6 weeks. Effects and side reactions were evaluated with Hamilton anxiety scale and treatment emergent symptoms scale before and after treatment. Results: The therapeutic efficacy in Bao Sheng Tang group was similar to that in paroxetine. Although the efficacy in Bao Sheng Tang group went out slowly in the beginning, by time on it became more firmly and longer. Compared with paroxetine, Bao Sheng Tang had fewer side effects and addiction. Conclusion: Bao Sheng Tang is effective in the treatment of general anxiety disorder and produces fewer side effects. |
