OBJECTIVES: By detecting the changes of and the correlation between blood Norepinephrine (NE) AngiotensinII (Angll) Aldosterone (ALD) and Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) , We studied the effects and explored the clinical vaule of Benazepril alone or in combination with Valsartan despite standard therapy in Chronic heart failure patients with different cause and different New York Heart Association (NYHA) heart function classes.METHODS:1 We enrolled 74 patients with chronic heart failure. The patients were randomly assigned to receive Benazepril alone (36 patients) or in combination with Valsartan (38 patients) in addition to standard therapy for a total six months. There is no statistical significant difference between the two groups on sex age cause and NYHA class etc. 2 Plasma levels of Norepinephrine (NE ) was measured by enzyme-linked immynosorbent assay (ELISA), Angiotensin II (Ang II ) and Aldosterone (ALD) were measured by radioimmunoassay, Doppler echocardiography was performed to measuredparameters of left ventricular function before and after 6 months treatment.RESULTS: 1 There was no statistical difference on plasma levels of Norepinephrine (NE) , Angiotensin II (Ang II) , Aldosterone (ALD) between groups with different cause of heart failure (P>0.05), the plasma level of ALD was significantly elevated in CHF patients with essential hypertension(P<0.05); 2 The plasma level of NE Ang II and ALD were higher in CHF patients with NYHA Class II than in patients with NYHA Class II and class II. But there was no statistical difference between patients with NYHA Class II and class II; 3 In patients with CHF, LVEF had a negative correlation with plasma level of NE Ang II and ALD (P
