ObjectiverTo investigate the relationship between the expression of mutant P53,VEGF and MVD and the clinical significances in transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder(BTCC). Method:I mmunohistochemistry(two step method) was used to detect the expression of mutant P53 protein, VEGF and F VIII-RAg in 10 tissues of normal mucosa of bladder and 50 tissues of primary transitional cell carcinoma of bladder. The results was analysed with the clinic pathological characters of BTCC.Result:I. In 50 tissues of BTCC,the positive expression rate of mutant P53 was 66%,the positive expression rate of VEGF was 72%,the average MVD Value was 8.94±2.08. In 10 tissues of normal mucosa of bladder, the expression of mutant P53 protein and VEGF were all negative, the average MVD Value was 1.20±0.35 (p<0.01) .2. The average MVD Value was higher in the group of invasive stage(p<0.01)and high grade(G2 and G3) (p<0.01), The recurrent rate was higher in the group of high MVD(p<0.05).3. The positive expression rate of mutant P53 was higher in the group of invasive stage(p<0.05)and high grade(G2 and or G3) (p<0.01), The recurrent rate was higher in the group that the expression of mutant P53 was positive (p<0.01). The average MVD value was higher in the group that the expression of mutant P53 was positive (p<0.05). 4. The positive expressionrate of VEGF was higher in the group of invasive stage(p<0.01)and high grade(G2 and or G3) (p<0.01), The recurrent rate was higher in the group that the expression of VEGF was positive (p<0.01). The average MVD value was higher in the group that the expression of VEGF was positive (p<0.01). 5. There was positive correlation between the expression of mutant P53 and VEGF (rs=0.58 p<0.01) .Conclusion: 1. The expression of mutant P53,VEGF and MVD value have significant differences between the tissues of normal bladder mucosa and BTCC.2. The expression of mutant P53, VEGF and MVD value have correlation to different stages (according to UICC-TNM), grades(according to WHO), and recurrence, therefore it have prognostic value.3. The expression of mutant P53 and VEGF have correlation to MVD, The expression of mutant P53 has positive correlation to the expression of VEGF, therefore mutant P53 and VEGF have microvascular angiogenesis effect in BTCC.
