Objectives (1)To observe the histomorphologic development of human fetus stomachand small intestine.(2)To observe the distribution of endocrine cells in stomach.(3)Tostudy the expression of leptin and leptin receptor in stomach and small intestine.(4)Toapproach the relationship of leptin and leptin receptor and the development of humanfetus stomach and small intestine. Methods (1)Hematoxylin-Eosin(HE) staining.(2)Grimelius staining. (3) Immunohistochemical SABC staining. Results (1) At 14thweek,gastric pit and gastric gland were formed in stomach.Parietal cells were seen.Muscularis mucosa was seen in mucosa. After 20 weeks, chief cells appeared. Gastricwall and gastric gland develop with aging. The histological differentiations in smallintestine; were proceed from the beginning to the end.The 14th week, the fairlydeveloped lobe-shape intestinal villus were formed in duodenum.Digital-shape villuswere seen in jejunum, but lower-conus body configur appeared in ileum. At 20thweek,there are obevious duodenal gland in duodenum.Muscularis mucosa appeared induodenum and jejunum, but it was seen in ileum till the 24th week.there are four layersin the wall of small intestine.(2)Endocrine cells were seen in gastric epithelium andgastric gland. At first, the number of endocrine cells were increased with aging. But it decreased after 24 weeks. Most of them were distributed in fundic of gastric gland.(3) At 14th week, leptin and leptin receptor were expressed in gastric gland. In contrast to hematoxylin-eosin staining ,the positive cells are most of parietal cells. After 20 weeks, the number of immunoreactive cells were increased with the development of gastric gland. (4)At 14th week, leptin and leptin receptor were expressed in small intestine(duodenumjejunum and ileum). The staining intensity decreased with aging in duodenum. After 30 weeks, intestinal villus were negative in duodenum. The staining intensity weakly decreased with aging in jejunum. But there are no change in ileum. Conclusion (1)At the 14th week, there are four layers in the wall of stomach.Gastic gland was appeared. The histological differentiations in small intestine were proceed from the beginning to the end.(2)At first, the number of endocrine cells were increased with aging in stomach. But it decreased after 24 weeks.(3)Parietal cells showed leptin and leptin receptor immunoreactivity.(4)From 14th to 24th week, there are Leptin and leptin receptor immunoreactivity in intestinal epithelium cells. After 30 weeks, intestinal villus were negative in duodenum. (5)There are relationship between leptin and leptin receptor in stomach and small intestine with the development of human fetus.
