A Clinical Observation On The Effect Of Acupuncture In The Treatment Of The Patients With Primary Open-angle Glaucoma

Objective:To observe the effect of acupuncture in treatment of the patients with primary open-angle glaucoma(POAG).Methods: 1 .Ten patients(15 eyes) were treated with acupuncture.The changes of visual acuity,visual field,intraocular pressure and symptoms were observed.Moreover,the clinical therapeutic effct was observed by means of case-control study.Results:l.The intraocular pressure and visual field were significantly improved and the upset symptoms were eliminated or relieved as compared with pretreatment(P<0.05).2.The clinical effect was almost similar to that of the case-control group.Conclusion:l.The therapeutic effect of acupuncture in treatment of the patients with POAG is identified.2.Acupuncrure could reduce the intraocular pressure .ameliorate the retinal microcirculation.accelerate the plerosis of the retinal tissue,relieve the damages caused by free radicals and thus reinforce the retinal function.
