Objective Screening effective extracts obtained from Forsythiasutspensa (Thumb.) Vahlon herpes simplex virus 1 and 2;Evaluating their antiviruse effects in vitro. Methods Investigating anti-hsv-land hsv-2 effects of four extracts of Forsythiasutspensa (Thumb.) Vahlon by observing cytopathic effect(CPE) and adopting MTT colorimetric assay for the assessment of cell viability :by experiments of making viruses inactivated straightly of medicine, medicine blocking adsorption and medicine inhibitory biosynthesis of viruse experiments , investigating anti-hsv-1 and hsv-2 effects of four extracts and study anti-viruse mechanisms of medicine; Comparing different effects of medicine to HSV-1 and HSV-2 in different tite; Evaluation anti-viruse effects of medicine by medical pharmacodynamical maker TD50, TD95 , ED50, ED95 and TI. Result 1.All four extracts can not inactivate straightly hsv-1 and hsv-2; also can not block adsorption of viruse ,but they all inhibite biosynthesis of viruse and ED50 are 8.63,2.65,3.50,8.90g/ml.2 The TI of no.6,7,8,9 extracts are 3.06,4. 55, 8. 79, 4.14rg/ml,showing no.8 has hightest safe index in extracts of medicine and NO.9 has biggest range between ED95 and TD5 ;The TD50 of extracts are 26.37, 12.06, 30.76, 36.87rg/ml,showing drug toxicit of no.7 is smallest The ED50 of Extracts are 8. 63, 2. 65, 3. 50, 8. 90,showing NO.7 needed is lest up to CPE inhibitory Of 50%.
