| Purpose: To observe how estrogen influences the distribution of hypothalamus NOS positive neurons in the overiectomized female rats. Methods: 1. The immune cell chemical method(SABC) is adopted, and all NOS positive neurons of SON PVN and LHA can be tested on cell count and observed morphologically under light microscope; 2. The system of pattern analysis is adopted to test the average gray value of immune reactant of hypothalamus NOS positive neurons.Results: 1. Hypothalamus NOS positive neurons are distributed widely in normal female rats. SON and PVN manifest most strongly among all the hypothalamus's NOS neurons and gather into clusters. NOS neurons in LHA are moderately dyed and of average size and scattered; 2. SON, PVN, LHA positive NOS neurons of Ovariectomized female rats increase in number and are dyed darker; 3. The number of hypothalamus SON, PVN, LHA positive NOS neurons decreased dramatically after estrogen replacement therapy, and no visible difference can be detected compared with the normal female rats. Conclusion: It suggests that external estrogen may influence the distribution of positive neurons of hypothalamus. |
