Objective:To explore the significance of tissue Doppler imaging (TDI ) that make noninvasive assessment of right ventricular diastolic function. Methods: 140 subjects with pulmonary hypertension were analysed, age ranging from tirty-four to fifty-six years. All patients are divided into three groups according to the level of the pulmonary hypertension:low-grade pulmonary hypertension 50 cases,medium-grade pulmonary hypertension 51 cases,high-grade pulmonary hypertension 39 cases.Control groups consists of 30 subjects with nomal pulmonary hypertension, age ranging from thirty-four to fifty-six years. Under 2-dimensional Echo image of 4-chamber view,PW was applied to measure peak early diastolic velocity (e),peak diastolic velocity with atrial contraction(a), and calculate the ratio of e/a.TDI paraments included peak early diastolic annular velocity (E),peak diastolic annular velocity with atrial contraction(A),and isovolumic relaxation time (IR)intervals, calculating the ratio of E/A. Results: In the study ,according to the level of the pulmonary hypertension , the diastolic function of right ventricular vary significantly;the diastolic function of right ventricular were lower than the control groups. Furthmore, the more higher pulmonary hypertension, the more lower diastolic function of right ventricular. This parameter was prominently correlated with the degrees of pulmonary hypertension. Isovolumic relaxation time (IR) was much longer in pulmonary hypertension groups than those in control groups.TDI show more efficient than conventional Doppler in diagnosing the diastolic dysfunction of right ventricular in low and medium-grade pulmonary hypertension subjects.Whereas, between the 2 techniques ,there is no difference in diagnosing the diastolic dysfunction of right ventricular with high-grade pulmonary hypertension . Conclusion: TDI is the most sensitive method of noninvasive assessment of right ventricular function.
